The Membership
Process
Rush is the
first step in becoming a member of Phi Sigma Pi. This is point where
students interested in joining have a chance to see if our
Fraternity is right for them. Interested students will attend
various events that help them get to know Brothers and our
organization.
After rush, the prospective member enters Initiation. This is a
quarter long process beginning with the Pinning Ceremony. Initiates attend weekly classes
in preparation for the National Membership Exam. Classes are held
during Winter and Spring quarter every Thursday night at 5:30pm and
are mandatory.
During the Initiation process,
Initiates learn the history of Phi Sigma Pi and create events
similar to those our Chapter hosts (Service, Programming, Social,
and Fundraising). Finally, Initiates must study for and pass a
national examination on the ideals and history of our organization.
At the end of the quarter the Initiates become
members of Phi Sigma Pi at the Induction Ceremony.
